What an Evening

Yesterday, I wanted to try sunset photos around high tide and at the River Arun. However, the evening evolved into a longer and quite varied shoot as different photo opportunities presented themselves.
Having walked along to the river and harbour area, the sunlight was initially too bright and we opted to walk along to East Pier. As we arrived there, I could see the sun shining on the wooden groynes and also highlighting the edge of small breaking waves so I headed out onto the beach.

I also looked out to sea as the sun lit the leading edge of the waves as they broke onshore.

Then we walked back to the harbour area for the sunset, which proved a little difficult to capture as the composition is hindered by a variety of obstacles.
I managed to take a few, nothing that I was really happy with.
Then we walked back along to the beach to see if any cloud glow still visible, stopping on East Pier and looking along the beach and sea.
The photos there were OK, but not spectacular, and I moved a little further along the pier. Then I noticed the moonlight shining along the sea at the end of the pier so quickly positioned myself there.

While standing here, I noticed to my left that the promenade lights had now come on along the seafront and were reflecting in the sea - another photo opportunity.

Next, we noticed the after glow from sunset glowing on the river water and we went to the edge of the boardwalk that runs alongside the river.

After capturing that one, we walked towards the harbour to get more detail and light reflections.

and that was it, an amazing evening with a variety of images and some of a different type than I have usually taken.
