Sunny Littlehampton

On a glorious sunny afternoon and around high tide, I decided to go for a walk along the seafront and alongside the River Arun to the Harbour. I have taken photos in that area previously by phone, but not with my camera and I thought it was about time that I captured by camera.
I started by going to the promenade and noticed the incoming waves splashing against the groynes on the beach, with those groynes being well lit by the sun and showing off the seaweed and grain of the wood. Having ventured out only armed with my 17-40mm zoom, I was unable to get too close to the sea as the incoming waves would have eventually given me wet shoes.

I took several, at various groynes, as the tide continued to roll in and then made my way to East Pier to take in the view along the beach.

After that, it was time to wander along the broad path that is alongside the river and leads to the Harbour and then to the town. While walking in that direction, I noticed the reflection in the Oyster Pond where there are pedal boats that are moored in the middle when not being used. They were reflected in the water as I have expected for a while, but I had not previously expected the houses behind to be in that reflection.

Thereafter, it was onwards to the Harbour area and views along the river. The conflict between bright and dark areas of the following photos required me to bracket the settings to include some deliberately underexposing the foreground darker areas.
