Return to a Happy Place

It's actually quite a while since we visited The Seven Sisters, nr Seaford - previously a regular spot for photos and one I have said many times is one of my happy places.
This time, we visited during daylight hours and walked out from the car park at the Visitor Centre to the beach at Cuckmere Haven.
This route follows a well maintained footpath running alongside the meandering River Cuckmere, with great views behind you to the South Downs (see below)

When we reached the beach, it was soon after low tide and there existed the possibility of looking along the cliffs while including the small incoming waves in the foreground - an idea that I formulated that morning at breakfast.
Fitting my variable ND filter to slow the exposure down a little on this bright day, the photo below is my favourite of those I took as the curve of the wave leads the eye into the picture.

We then walked back to the car park and drove to High & Over, a viewpoint on the edge of Seaford. I have visited this viewpoint before, but thought that it would worth a visit today. This hilltop view affords expansive views out over the River Cuckmere valley. Looking out to sea over the area we had just walked, while looking inland shows a patchwork of fields and some of the meanders of the river.
