Formula Ford Festival - Brands Hatch

The annual Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch has long been a favourite event in the calendar, but this years event took on extra significance as it was run as a tribute to Gerrit van Kouwen who won the event 40 years ago. Gerrit sadly died from cancer earlier this year and his family, led by wife Suzy, agreed to sponsor the Festival races as part of the tribute.

Having taken photos of Gerrit winning back in 1984 and of his further career in the subsequent years, plus knowing Suzy anyway, I really wanted to attend and at least show respect for this popular driver.
