Dew pond, Ditchling Beacon

Visited Ditching Beacon today, specifically to take photos of a dew pond with maybe the sunset and reflections - the result of seeing a particularly nice pic on Twitter the other day.

Having parked the car, I was unpleasantly surprised by the icy nature of the breeze as I walked towards the area we believed the pond to be. The walk was along a ridge at the top of Ditchling Beacon, with the wind being very lazy - i.e. it went straight through me.

I eventually reached the pond, but it was immediately obvious that the breeze was going to give a lot of movement in the water and very little in the way of reflections. However, the sun was setting rapidly and I needed to get set up and see what I could achieve. As the sun set further, the longer exposures resulted in more movement in the water - I was also using an ND Filter.

The shots below are a few from this visit, encouraging enough to make me determined to return on a still day - when reflections will be much easier to capture and I will again choose a sunny day in the hope of a nice sunset, where maybe this time there might be a few more wispy clouds up to catch the glow from the sun and create more interest in the sky that will also add to my reflections in the pond.
