Butterflies at Wisley

The Butterflies in the Glasshouse event at Wisley started today and runs until 5th March, giving the opportunity to view and photograph a good number of exotic butterflies. There is also a section where you can learn more about the life of a butterfly - their lives are actually surprisingly short, mainly around 4-6 weeks.

Over the course of the event, there will be around 6000 released - though this is obviously a gradual release.

Be warned though, it is very warm indeed inside that Glasshouse - even on a cold and damp today like today. You might need jackets & fleeces while outside, but you won't need either inside.

Also, some cameras will 'mist up' for a while - wipe the front on the lens with a dry cloth and the lens will 'become accustomed' to the temperature and humidity after a while and work normally.
